New Development Frontier-ASEAN Investment Promotion Conference was held successfully

On March 9, 2018, "New Development Frontier-ASEAN Investment Promotion Conference" hosted by China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Shenzhen Sub-council and undertaken by the Consulate General of Thailand in Guangzhou and Kasikornbank (China) Company Limited was successfully held at Shenzhen Wuzhou Hotel.

The theme of the promotion conference was to strengthen economic and trade exchanges and cooperation between Chinese and Thai enterprises. The conference was attended by Guo Jingwei (Deputy Director of CCPIT Shenzhen Sub-council), Vasin Ruangprateepsaeng (Consul General of Consulate General of Thailand in Guangzhou), Mr. Lin Songbao (Investment Consul of Investment Department of Consulate General of Thailand in Guangzhou), Mr. Vongpat Bhuncharoen (President of Kasikornbank (China) Company Limited) and representatives of 70 enterprises. The enterprises participating in the conference were from the cross-industries in a wide range, which was highly consistent with the investment promotion target industries of Thailand Investment Promotion Committee covering mechanical equipment, automobiles and their parts, electronic products and accessories, medical equipment and parts, telecommunications equipment and their parts production, software and so on.

At the conference, Guo Jingwei (Deputy Director of CCPIT Shenzhen Sub-council) said that Shenzhen, as the pioneer of the construction of "the Belt and Road" in China, had always been committed to building a high-level pattern of opening to the outside world and attaching importance to strengthening closer cooperation with the countries along "the Belt and Road". CCPIT Shenzhen Sub-council fully affirmed the achievements of Sino-Thai cooperation and would provide active support for Sino-Thai cooperation!

Consul General Vasin Ruangprateepsaeng from Consul General of the Consulate General of Thailand in Guangzhou said, "At present, Thailand's economy continues to develop, and the Thai government is carrying out all-round reform in Thailand and striving to fully enter the 4.0 new economic era. Thailand is the transportation and logistics center of ASEAN countries and an important carrier of ASEAN economic integration." He further believed that the integration of ASEAN economy would make ASEAN a huge market with more than 600 million consumers and strengthening the interconnection between Thailand and China was of positive significance to ASEAN and China.

Mr. Vongpat Bhuncharoen, President of Kasikornbank (China) Company Limited (“Kasikornbank China”), said at the conference that under the background of cooperation and development between China and ASEAN countries along "the Belt and Road", Kasikornbank Thailand (“Kasikornbank”), the parent bank of Kasikornbank China, was an important ASEAN bank which would play an irreplaceable and positive role in promoting regional economic and trade cooperation with its advantages in financial resources and excellent services in ASEAN.

After that, Mr. Lin Songbao (Investment Consul of Investment Department of Consulate General of Thailand in Guangzhou), Ms. Zhao Yueyue (Corporate Banking Manager of Kasikornbank China Shenzhen Branch), Ms. Li Qi from International Business Consulting Department of Kasikornbank and the representatives of Rojjana Industrial Park ofThailand gave detailed introductions on "ASEAN investment policies and opportunities, the latest economic trends and business strategies of ASEAN and the investment services of Kasikornbank”.

Ms. Zhao Yueyue, Multinational Enterprise Manager of Kasikornbank China Shenzhen Branch, said that Kasikornbank China and its branches actively provided clients with financial products and services of various corporate and retail including deposit, commercial loan, trade financing, settlement of foreign direct investment, etc.

Ms. Li Qi from International Business Consulting Department of Kasikornbank said that in order to assist the strategic direction of China-ASEAN Free Trade Area and serve the market in ASEAN Free Trade Area, Kasikornbank implemented an integrated regional operation mode to provide clients with excellent services through various channels such as physical outlets, digital platforms and regional partnership. In order to better serve the overseas assets distribution of Chinese clients, Kasikornbank launched special services such as business investment consulting services, business docking services and cross-border trade and investment solutions. Meanwhile, it set up Laos Kasikornbank and representative offices in Myanmar, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh and Indonesia across ASEAN Free Trade Area, and it was committed to providing all-round quality services to the target clients in China-Thailand-ASEAN.

In the Q&A session, Kasikornbank and Kasikornbank China gave comprehensive and detailed answers to the concerns of enterprise representatives and proposed guiding suggestions on the spot.

Lastly, the representatives of Rojjana Industrial Park of Thailand shared the development plan of the park project with the representatives of the participating enterprises.

The promotion conference was well-received by the participants for its innovative form and sufficient contents. After the conference, the representatives said that the conference provided highly professional guidance and assistance for enterprises to explore their overseas markets.
